Yo Yo Intermittent Recovery Test (YIRT): The final test indicates your capacity to execute and recover from repeated bouts of high intensity exercise –as a game demands. The set-up of the test reflects the shape of an arrow, with a 10-metre linear sprint, a 5-metre sprint to one side, followed by 5-metres at a 45 degree angle, and a final 15 metres linear following a 45-degree turn as shown. Arrowhead Agility: This test measures your ability to control and maintain speed while changing direction suddenly. 20-Metre Sprint: This test measures your explosive speed from a standing position up to full velocity within 20 metres – something you do regularly in a match. Lower body power is crucial when heading or striking the ball. The higher the jump, the greater the score. The test shows your lower body peak power output. Vertical Jump: Your score is calculated by combining the height of your jump with your weight. Four physical tests produce a single number rating on a scale of roughly between 10-130.
